Ronald Gene Mayfield, 57, of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, at his home.

Ronald was born Oct. 20, 1963, at Crawfordsville, to Jerry A. and Sharon (Coltharp) Taylor of Crawfordsville.

He graduated from Crawfordsville High School and became a self-employed carpenter. He also briefly served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include: his wife of 38 years, LeeAnn Simms Mayfield; daughter Kelly J. (Dustin) Priddy of Darlington; son John C. Mayfield of Brownsburg; two brothers, Jerry W. Mayfield and Tony J. (Candy) Oaks, both of Crawfordsville; sisters, Sara J. (Ricky) Williams of Russiaville and Shirley J. McMirtrey of Brazil; mother-in-law Sharon Niece of Crawfordsville; two lovely granddaughters, Holly and Olivia Priddy; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother Lesley Dale Oaks Jr.; grandparents, James and Lillian Coltharp of Brazil; and Lloyd Fairfield of Crawfordsville.

There will be a celebration of life 6-8 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Tannenbaum Center, 107 Spring St. Please join us in his remembrance. Hunt & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family.
