Larry Wayne Van Horn

Larry Wayne Van Horn, 78, of Harmony, Indiana passed away peacefully with his family by his side in his residence on Friday, August 13, 2021. Larry was born on March 18, 1943 in Howesville, Indiana, the son of Louie H. and Letha L. (Miller) Van Horn. Larry was a retired engine testing inspector for General Motors in Indianapolis.

Larry was a 1961 graduate of Coalmont High School. On July 28, 1963, Larry married the love of his life, Gayla Smith. He was a man who loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and mushroom hunting. An avid sports fan, Larry loved to watch I.U. sports. He was a member of Deer Creek Coon Hunters Association.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Letha Van Horn; a son, Gary L. Van Horn; 2 brothers, Richard Dean and Carmen Van Horn; two sisters, Sue Ann Van Horn and Dixie White; and a brother-in-law, Danny Brownewell.

Survivors include is loving wife of 58 years, Gayla Van Horn; 3 sons, Terry Van Horn, (Laura), Keven Van Horn, (Trisha) and Lon Van Horn, (Melinda); a daughter, Kim Cundiff, (Doug); 7 grandchildren, Hannah Thompson, (Logan), Jordan Van Horn, (Elizabeth), Tyler Davies, Brooke Carter, (Cody), Eric Van Horn, Cody Van Horn and Kyle Popovich; 4 great-grandchildren, Mason Van Horn, Reid Carter, Winnie Van Horn and Sutton Carter; a brother, Jerry Van Horn; a sister, Roberta Brownewell; many nieces and nephews; and his pet and special buddy, Muffin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 18, 2021 at Lawson-Miller Chapel and Crematory, 1702 E. National Avenue, Brazil, with Debbie Linville and Cindy Buskirk officiating. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 17, 2021 in the Chapel.
