Kathleen Byrer, 71, of Poland, Indiana, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on August 22, 2021 following a lengthy illness.

Kathleen was born on December 21, 1949, in Tulia, Texas the daughter of Homer and Mary (George) Southerland. Kathleen graduated from Socorro High School and then Harold Beauty Academy. She worked as a beautician until becoming ill in 2008.

Kathleen married Bruce Byrer July 22, 1967. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and going fishing. Kathleen was a devout member of the First Apostolic Tabernacle Church (now The Anchor) for several years.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Mary Southerland; sisters: Mary Jo Daniels and Jackie Price; father-in-law Jesse Byrer; and a brother-in-law Larry Byrer.

Survivors include her husband Bruce; three children: Rhonda Patterson and husband Jeff, Bruce Byrer Jr. and wife Penny, and Sherry Edwards and husband Robert; grandchildren: Eric Patterson (Ashli), Dustin Patterson (Brittany), Cameron Norris, Jerrod Patterson (Heidi), Brandon Patterson (Samantha), Jessica Burns (Tyler), Kole Patterson (Allison), Corbin Patterson (Hannah), and Hunter Edwards; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings: Donald Southerland (Linda), Pat Baggett, and Louise Fisher; brother-in-law David Byrer (Peggy); sister-in-law Linda Winters as well as many extended family members and friends.

Graveside Services will be at Fairview Cemetery on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11:00am.
