Jean Hunter Beilby

SEPTEMBER 12, 1942 – SEPTEMBER 12, 2021

Jean Hunter Beilby, 79, of Greencastle, passed away on September 12, 2021, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

Jean was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia on September 12, 1942, the daughter of Douglass Gordon and Alice Rouzie Gouldman Jr., and was a graduate of James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Mrs. Beilby was a member of Soul Harvest Church in Cloverdale, and was a member of several Quilting Clubs. She owned and operated Jean’s Crafts for many years. Jean was an avid quilter, and won many awards for her work.

Survivors include her husband of fourteen years, Duke Beilby; three children, Kathy Dixon, (Tim), Chesterfield, Virginia; Corinna Sims, (Jerry), Hague, Virginia, and Hunter Parrish, Lousia, Virginia; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Douglass Gordon Gouldman III.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Nichols officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
