Thelma G. Swank

August 12, 1929 - September 25, 2021

Thelma G. Swank, 92, of Centerpoint, Indiana passed away at The Waters of Greencastle on September 25, 2021.

Thelma was born on August 12, 1929, in Marion County, Indiana the daughter of Plummer and Iva (Clingerman) Knox. She graduated from Bowling Green High School with the class of 1947. Thelma worked for Simplicity Patterns for a few years prior to marrying Calvin Swank on January 9, 1954. She began homemaking and working on the family farm with her husband Calvin.

She was preceded in death by her parents Plummer and Iva Knox; husband Calvin Swank in 2013; grandson Andy Oliveira; a son-in-law Mark Graham; siblings: Mary Jane Jones, Russell Knox, and Bill Knox.

Thelma is survived by her children: Carol Graham of Clay City, Karen Barnhart and husband Darrel of Centerpoint, and Ken Swank of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Brian Graham (Jill), Brad Graham (Alana), Troy Oliveira (Lindsey), Tracy Pattengale (Matt), Steven Swank (Amy), Michael Swank, and Daniel Swank; great-grandchildren: Austin Graham, Jordan Graham, Jacey Graham, Parker Graham, Logan Graham, Adalyn Pattengale, Jackson Pattengale, and one expected in March; a sister-in-law Violet Knox of Spencer as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 11-1. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Tuesday, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
