Leslie Louise (Mauk) Thais, 78, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away, at home, on September 25, 2021 following a battle with cancer.

Leslie was born on August 12, 1943, in Lima, Ohio the daughter of Carey and Roberta C. (Zwick) Mauk. She graduated from high school from Lafayette – Jackson High School with the class of 1961. Following high school Leslie went to beauty school in Lima, Ohio at Richard Weston Beauty School. She married Donald Joel Repasz and they moved to Indiana and started a family. In 1993, at the age of 50, she graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Art and a minor in Art History. Two years later she graduated from Ivy Tech in 1995 with a degree in Visual Communication.

Leslie not only had a passion for art but also enjoyed singing, baking, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carey and Roberta Mauk and a brother Clinton Mauk, brothers-in-law: Paul Bonito and Mike O’Connor.

Survivors include her siblings: David Mauk (Marit Dale) of Norway, Ann Bonito of Ohio, and Sara Mauk of Chicago; son Carey Repasz of Knoxville, Tennessee; her daughter Sara Munoz and husband Richard of Brazil; grandchildren: William Repasz (Brooklyne), Erik Repasz (Katy), Veronica Repasz, Robert Munoz (Kay), Matthew “Buzz” Munoz (Emily), Karen Munoz, Katherine “Kate” Munoz; great-grandchildren: Braxton Repasz, Paisley Repasz, Mateo Repasz, Ethan Repasz, and Oliver Repasz; sister-in-law Lillian Mauk as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.


Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Friday at 1:00 with Rev. Dr. Quinten Madden officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
