Eva Mae Bushong

Feb. 12, 1935-Sept. 26, 2021

Eva Mae Bushong, 86, of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at home, with family members by her side. 

Eva was born Feb. 12, 1935, at Metcalf County, Kentucky, as the first child of Herschel and Reba (Rigsby) Crews. In 1951, Eva married James Bushong, also of Metcalf County, Kentucky. The couple enjoyed 67 years together prior to Jim’s passing in 2018.

Being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was one of the most important parts of Eva’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was a loving person, supportive and kind. She enjoyed spending time with family, relaxing at the lake, sewing and cooking. We will all miss her dearly.

Eva is survived by children, Karen Miller of Crawfordsville, Michael (Laura) Bushong of Greenwood and Tim (Sharon) Bushong of Crawfordsville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Junior (Connie) Crews. 

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, her mother, father and beloved sister, Lucy Hayes.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with services at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30. Eva will be laid to rest at Indian Creek Cemetery, next to her husband, mother and sister. Arrangements are being handled by Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
