Shirley Jean Lage

MAY 15, 1941 – OCTOBER 7, 2021

Shirley Jean Lage, 80, of Greencastle passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Shirley was born in Mendota, Illinois on May 15, 1941, the daughter of Ralph W. and Betty A. (Kettley) Larabee, and was a 1959 graduate of Paw Paw High School.

Mrs. Lage was a member of the Greencastle Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, John E. Lage; five children, John E. Lage Jr. (Jan), William D. Lage, (Pam), Janice K. Wogast, (Dirk), Renee R. Socia, and Maria M. Gibson, (Demetrius); a sister, Sharon K. Larabee, nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, David R. Larabee.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, in Restland Cemetery in Mendota, Illinois.
