James Herschel Stadler

James Herschel Stadler was a loving and caring father, Pappy, brother and friend. He left this world for his Heavenly home on Sept. 28, 2021.

He attended Ladoga School system, where he graduated in 1969. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy.

Following his time in the Navy, he continued his education. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Clearwater Christian College and a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University in political science.

Jim had a 30-year career in law enforcement as a police officer, detective and finally retired as a parole officer.

He loved outdoors, fishing, motorcycles, coaching basketball and spending time with family and friends.

Jim was born to Ross and Greta (Smith) Stadler on June 3, 1951.

He is survived by son Justin (Sarah) Stadler of Hudson, Colorado; daughter Karis (Ray) Marion of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Breanna, Trayton, Rhylee, Bentleigh and Reagan; two brothers, Ross (Candace) Stadler of Lombard, Illinois, and Marshall (Verdie) Stadler of Mace; and five sisters, Linda Sering of Irondale, Alabama, Brenda Shaner of Greencastle, Lynette (James) Myers of Ladoga, Patti Ames of Ladoga and Tamara (Josh) Grandstaff of Logansport.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bernie and Ronald.

A celebration of life is planned 2-7 p.m. Oct. 24 at 215 E. Taylor S., Ladoga. Everyone is welcome.
