Marilyn Guriel

Marilyn Sue Guriel, 75 of Terre Haute, formerly of Hendricks County, passed away October 7, 2021, at 12:40 pm at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. She was born May 10, 1946, in Plymouth, Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert Ardell and Betty Wallace Ardell. As a little girl, the family moved to Clay County and Marilyn graduated from Staunton High School. She later received an Associate Degree in Medical Records from Ivy Tech. Marilyn lived in the Clayton and Danville Indiana area from 1976-1993. She worked in the WIC office in both Hendricks County and Vigo County until her retirement.
Marilyn enjoyed sewing and all craft items. She especially enjoyed the many fall festivals. She also had a love for airplanes, motorcycles, and cars. She enjoyed traveling to airshows and she passed on her love for planes to her sons.
Survivors include her husband, Richard “Rick” Guriel, whom she married December 3, 1994; her sons, John Drake of O’Fallon, MO and Bryan Drake and wife Heather of Avon; step-children, Tiffany Guriel of Shelbyville, KY, Darci Guriel and husband David Carmack, of Covington, KY, Bethany Bayne and husband Clifford of Wichita, KS, and Thad Guriel and wife Bryna of Arvada, CO; grandchildren, Logan Lloyd, Dylan Lloyd, Caroline Bayne, Fiona Bayne, Roslyn Bayne, Ainsley Guriel and Piper Carmack; one sister Linda Robison (Bill) of Danville, and one brother Stephen Ardell of Avon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Bob Ardell.
In keeping with her wishes, a graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00pm at Summit Lawn Cemetery. The family requests that friends come casually dressed.
