Luciano Frank Raineri, 66, of Lafayette passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at Indianapolis.

He was born Oct. 6, 1955, at Chicago, to Gaetano and Cecilia (Cirrincione) Raineri.

Lou graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in 1973 and attended the University of Notre Dame.

On May 16, 2002, he married Kelly Clahan Scott in Naples, Florida.

Lou was a bus operator since July of 2013 for CityBus and was known for his kind and personable manner. He was well liked by both co-workers and riders alike and will be deeply missed by all those he came into contact with during his career. Lou’s dedication to the job and friendly nature serve as a model for all to remember and emulate. He had previously worked for Wonder Bread and retired from Sara Lee.

Lou was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and attended Mass each day.

He enjoyed fishing, bicycling on the Monon Trial, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Kelly Raineri of Lafayette; his children, Larry (Clara) Raineri of Minnesota and Jenna (Daniel Baus) Raineri of Woodridge, Illinois; his step-daughter, Tiffany (Mathew) Kendall of Lafayette; his mother, Cecilia Raineri of River Forest, Illinois; and his siblings, Josephine (Rick) Belniak, Rosemary (Gary) Ciccione, Jacqueline Romano, Anthony Raineri, Maria (Jack) Vandike and Anna (Mar) Poulin. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Emma, Mathew and Jacob and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gaetano Raineri.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation will be held prior to Mass from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.  A private burial will be held later in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lafayette.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Autism Foundation in loving memory of Lou.
