Carolyn Joan Lowe

JUNE 28, 1938 – NOVEMBER 5, 2021

Carolyn Joan Lowe, 83, of Greencastle passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Carolyn was born in Greencastle on June 28, 1938, the daughter of Frank Harvey and Lola Marie (Bryant) Carrington.

Mrs. Lowe worked for Alpha Phi Sorority at DePauw University, Angwell Curtain Factory, Asbury Towers, and took care of her family.

Survivors include her two daughters, Doris York, and Kathy McClure, (Wade); her son, Sonny Lowe, (Jenny); two brothers, Norman Carrington, and Robert Carrington, (Barbara); six grandchildren, Troy Shonkwiler Jr., Heather Shonkwiler (Francesco Roncara), Brad York, (Candice), Shane Lowe, Jesse Lowe, (Jessica) and Lacey Lowe; five great-grandchildren, Callista, Bethany Hayden, Elijah, and Annalynn; as well as, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sherman Clyde Lowe; a daughter, Annetta Joyce Shonkwiler; three sisters, Thelma Witt, Jenny Morrison, and Marie Aubrey, and a brother Wayne Carrington. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Champion officiating. Burial will follow in Little Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service Wednesday.
