Bernadine Quinnette
December 28, 1929 ~ November 7, 2021 (age 91)
Bernadine Broadstreet Quinnette, age 91, passed from this earth to eternal life on November 7, 2021.
Bernadine was born on December 28, 1929 in Cloverdale, Indiana where she lived with her mother, Grace Sackett, step father Vivian ‘Bib’ Sackett and siblings Rita (Dewey) Garrett, Jeannette (Jim) Sharp and Leonard ‘Buzz’ Sackett.
Bernadine married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Joseph L. Quinnette on June 6, 1947. She lived her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother (GiGi), sister and friend.
Family was the most important thing to Bernadine and she was never happier than when she was cooking or baking for her family. Her family extended to ‘her kids’, the students whom she taught, while devoting herself as a teaching assistant in Indianapolis Public Schools, for more than 30 years. The many lives impacted by Bernadine’s influence will miss her dearly and remember her most for her generosity, sincere concern for others and witty sense of humor.
Bernadine is survived by her daughters Donna (Dan) Smith of Indianapolis, IN, Deanna (Jim) Hannis of Etowah, NC, and son Richard Quinnette of Greenwood, IN. Also surviving are her sister Jeannette, her eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, her father Bernard Broadstreet, brother Bill Broadstreet, sister Rita, brother ‘Buzz’ and great-granddaughter Lillian Begley.
Funeral services for Bernadine will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday November 11th, 2021 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday November 10th, 2021 at Whitaker Funeral Home.
