Franklin E. Holt

Franklin E. Holt, 86, of Linden passed away at 3:25 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2021, Franciscan Health Lafayette East.

He was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Adair County, Kentucky, the son of the late Gilbert and Anna (Rice) Holt and was a graduate of Garden Grove High School in Garden Grove, California, and received additional schooling in Los Angeles. Franklin married Doris G. Ritchie on Feb. 16, 1958, at the Linden United Methodist Church in Linden. She survives.

He was employed as a heavy equipment operator, and was a 50-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 103 in Indianapolis. Franklin was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church, New Richmond Masonic Lodge #604, Royal Arch Masons and American Legion Post 72 in Crawfordsville. He enjoyed camping, playing golf and wintering in Florida.

Surviving with his wife is a son, Arnold Scott Holt of Linden; a brother, Wesley Holt (Priscilla) of Parkersburg; a sister, Doris Hundt of Santa Fe, Texas; and three grandsons, Daniel, Jason and Caleb.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Carl Holt and a sister, Mary Rose Beaver. Friends may call at the Linden United Methodist Church on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 9:30 A.m. until New Richmond Masonic Lodge # 604 services at 10:45 A.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Clint Fink officiating. Interment will be held following the funeral in New Richmond Cemetery.
