James Michael ‘Mike’ Mennen

James Michael “Mike” Mennen of Plainfield passed away with family by his side on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, after battling respiratory pneumonia. He was 46.
Mike drove a semi for Progistics Distribution. He was an avid fan of the Cubs and Colts. He loved his cat Eddie and riding his Harley. He was baptized at Connection Point in Brownsburg.
Born Aug. 17, 1975 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Dennis Mennen and Teresa Newlin. He graduated from North Montgomery High School in 1994 and attended Vincennes.
Surviving family includes: mother Teresa Newlin; father Dennis (Kathy) Mennen; grandmother Jean Newlin Keller; brother Jason (Misty) Mennen; sister Melissa (Ben) Auxier; step-brother John Rutan; step-sisters, Julie (Mike)Voigt and Jill Leonard; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Doris Mennen; grandfather Jake Newlin; cousin Aaron Edwards; and brother-in-law Aaron Shelton.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation will take place, after which there will be a memorial visitation on Friday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m.
