Burl Robert Shafer II

SEPTEMBER 19, 1948 – NOVEMBER 20, 2021

Burl (Bob) Robert Shafer II, 73, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021 surrounded by family in his home. He was born in Terre Haute on September 19, 1948 to Burl and Doris (Huey) Shafer.

He was a 1967 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School. He was employed by Conrail Railroad from 1968-1989.

He is preceded in death by both parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Lanita Shafer, who he married on August 18, 1968; his son, Austin (Meaghan) Shafer; daughter, Melissa Lindsay; grandchildren, Gabrielle Lindsay, Addison Shafer, Alexander Lindsay, Katrina Shafer, Lilian Lindsay and Jeremiah Shafer; and sister, Sandra (Byron) Spurling.

Cremation and burial have been scheduled. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Bernie Jackson officiating.
