Rita Peterson

Rita Peterson of Rockville passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Hospital on 86th street. She was 57.

Rita was a homemaker who loved her kids and her grandkids. She would spoil her grandkids every chance she got.

Born May 1, 1964, at Scottsville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Gilford Carver and JoAnn Lonsberry Carver. Her family moved to Beech Grove and she would attend Beech Grove High School. She married Michael Peterson on May 15, 1999. He survives.

Surviving family includes: husband Michael Peterson; daughter Amanda Yates (Caleb); son Jonathon Acres; son Joesph Wilson (Brittney); daughter Amanda Peterson; daughter Ashley Smith (Matthew); son Alexander Peterson; brother Robert Carver; sister Kathryn Wilson; sister Leslie Carver; brother Earl Carver; and 11 grandchildren, Azalia, Vincent, Xavier, Mirrabella, Dominic, Mackenzie, Karson, Grace, Mia, Elena and Henry.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville. Graveside services will be held at
11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27 at the Calvary Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
