Daniel Howard Westbrook passed away Nov. 26, 2021, in the Piedmont ICU, Pineville, North Carolina.

He resided in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with his wife of 26 years, Diane V. (Teeple) Westbrook.

Dan was born June 27, 1944, at Indianapolis, to Mary Martha (Ford) Riggle and Howard Westbrook. He was raised in Roachdale by his mother and highly respected step-father Richard D. Riggle.

After graduating from Roachdale High School in 1962, he earned his degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University. Dan spent most of his career in the garment and clothing manufacturing business. Settling as an Ameriprise financial advisor. At one time in his life, he was an owner/operator of Two D Manufacturing in Veedersburg.

Dan is survived by his wife; three children, Kevin Howard Westbrook, Anita Danielle (Westbrook) Danniel and Heather Diane (Westbrook) Duff; and step-daughter Tracy Rose; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings, who knew him as brother “Boone,” including elder brother David Gatlin, younger sister Kathleen Mary (Westbrook) Collings, younger brothers, Ronald D. Riggle and Charles V. Riggle, and step-sister Virginia Carol (Westbrook) King.

Dan was preceded in death by his oldest brother, C. Thomas Gatlin; father; mother and step-father.

Dan’s favorite flower was the rose. His step-father was a prize winning rose grower.
