Floyd Sanders

AUGUST 11, 1943 – DECEMBER 22, 2021

Floyd Luther Sanders, 78, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He was born on August 11, 1943 in Terre Haute to Harry E. Sanders and Doris Ruth (Pointer) Sanders.

He is survived by his two sisters, Martha Truesdale and Mary Patton; his brother, James Sanders; and several nieces and nephews. Floyd is also survived by his caregivers of 13 years Juanita Pickens "Boss", Shakira Barbara Granma, Sonya Marie Becky; his buddy of 10 years, George Weir; and his cats Tamera and Terry, who were his babies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Ruth Ann Sproull and Bertha Mae Sanders.

Floyd worked at Wal-Mart in Terre Haute for several years. He enjoyed playing guitar and bowling. Floyd was a member of King’s Harvest Church. Most of all, Floyd loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.

The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their hospitality; Arc of Vigo County for there services; and to David, Angel, Sue, Laney, and Maria for all of their help with Floyd.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating, whom he loved dearly. Floyd will be laid to rest next to family in Grandview Cemetery.
