Sandra K. Newport

January 30, 1943 - December 23, 2021

Sandra Kay Newport passed away December 23rd, 2021, at her home in Brazil,Indiana. She was born January 30th, 1943, the oldest child of Harold L. And Florence (Fries) Newport. She graduated from Brazil High School, was honorably discharged from the US Army, and continued as civilian support for the military until her retirement. She spent the majority of her adult life in Oklahoma and returned home to Brazil to be closer to family.

She was an active volunteer at the Clay County Food Pantry and the Community Theater of Clay County. She also sang in two community choirs and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brazil.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Catherine Sue Cummins. She is survived by brother Harold A. Newport (Catherine), his children Rochell Reberger (Lee), Mica Bonomo (Nick), and Abby Followell; brother Paul B. Newport, (partner Rose DeLong), his daughter Nieccole Hilliard (Tony); sister Lucille M. Christenson (Gary),her daughter Amanda Williams; nephews Doug Cummins (Lora), Frank Cummins (Deanna), and niece Dawn Wheeler: half brother Brent Newport (Christy),his children Courtney, Callee, and Caitlin Newport; and sister
Christina Newport-delGallego and her son Daniel.

No services are being planned.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the food pantry of Clay County or Clay County Community Theater.
