Art and Bonnie Jensen

Arthur and Bonnie Jensen, of Brazil both passed away, January 7, 2022, at their home with their family by their side. Bonnie passed away at 11:49am and Art passed at 10:00pm. They were married for 73 years.
Bonnie, age 91, was born, August 29, 1930, in Brazil, IN. the daughter of Elmer and Florine Morman Youngblood. She graduated from Brazil High School. On October 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Art Jensen.
She worked at the Brazil License Branch for a time, but primarily worked as a legal secretary, last working for Wally Grosbach and Margaret Berry. She also worked at the Clay Superior Court as a clerk for a time. After retirement, Bonnie was a cashier for several auctioneers including, Cap Downing, Gayle Hughes, and Terry Timberman.
Art, age 92, was born August 17, 1929, in Indianapolis, IN. the son of Foster and Louise Moller Jensen. He also graduated from Brazil High School.
Art worked for many years for IBM in production and pricing. After retirement he worked for several farmers hauling grain. He also did custom bailing of hay. He drove a truck for Forsythe Brothers and other trucking companies. As a young man, Art operated a service station in the West end of Brazil.
Bonnie, along with Art was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ. They were also members of the Brazil Elks Lodge and the Moose. In the past, they enjoyed bowling, both together and with their respective leagues. They played Euchre with friends and family. They also had several friends that they would go out to dinner with in the past.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Evelyn Reckard.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Foster Jensen, and Clarence Jensen.
Survivors for Art and Bonnie are their children, Joetta Brown, Art Jensen, Jr. and wife Kris, Kathy Boston, Jeff Jensen and wife Lonnie, Sandra Jensen; grandchildren, Ashley Whitman (Clay), Sherri Britton (Jason), Eric Jensen (Melissa), Kirk Boston, Courtney Porter (Donnie), and Ethan Jensen; great-grandchildren, Michael Goodman, Evelyn Whitman, Sydni Butts (Zebb), Nick Britton, Renee Jensen, Hailee Jensen, Daesen Porter, Emelia Porter, Donovan Jensen; great-great-grandchildren, Julian Butts and Bonnie Butts; brother Max Youngblood (Nancy), sisters Judy Naliborski (Ron) and Marilyn Stallcop (Bill); many nieces and nephews on both Bonnie and Art’s side of the family.
A service will be held for Bonnie and Art on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 1:00pm at the St. John’s United Church of Christ with B. Lee Reberger officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
