Donald Ray Leohr, 79, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on January 10, 2022.


Don was born in Clay City, IN. on September 22, 1942, the son of Raymond G. Leohr and Maletta (Roush) Leohr. Don married Deanne Gettle on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1967.


Don graduated from Clay City High School with the class of 1960 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University. He was a 33-year employee of First Bank and Trust and retired as Senior Vice President. After retirement, he worked for Clay Community Schools.


Don was a member of the Indiana National Guard as well as a founding member of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department. While a member of the Poland Zion United Church of Christ, Don served in many capacities including elder, deacon, and trustee. He was an avid traveler and proudly achieved his goal of visiting all fifty states. Don also had a passion for trains and spent time visiting museums and train attractions as well as building and collecting model trains. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, attending activities with his granddaughter, and spending time with his beloved boxer Destiny.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maletta Leohr.


He is survived by his wife of 54 years Deanne Leohr, sons Douglas Leohr and wife Amy, David Leohr and wife Christy and granddaughter Keira Leohr.


Visitation will be at French Funeral Home 421 E National Ave, Brazil IN 47834 on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM with Jason DEan officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
