Linda Sue Sweet

NOVEMBER 25, 1954 – JANUARY 11, 2022

Linda Sue Sweet, 67, of Greencastle passed away on January 11, 2022, at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer.

Linda was born in Crawfordsville on November 25, 1954, the daughter of Ray Eugene and Mary Katherine (Blaydes) Quinnette, and was a 1973 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mrs. Sweet worked for Gould’s Market, Techno Trim, and Old National Trail as an Administrative Assistant for many years until her retirement. Linda was winner of the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award and traveled 49 states, Mexico and Canada.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Carl L. Sweet; a daughter, Melissa Smalley, (Wes), Murray, Kentucky; a brother Mike Quinnette, (Becky), New Vienna, Ohio; two sisters, Ann Zimmerman, McKenzie, Tennessee, and Sandra Foster, Greencastle; two grandchildren, Wesley Smalley, and Ashley Smalley; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Zackery Smalley.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Blaydes officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
