Nora Anne Livesay Moore

Dec. 5, 1921-Jan. 20, 2022

Nora Anne Livesay Moore of Beverly Hills, Florida passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River, Fla. She was 100 years old.

Born in Rogersville, Tennessee, Nora dedicated herself to the health care profession at an early age. She worked as a Physicians Assistant for six years before joining the Women’s Army Corps in 1953, where she trained as a medical technician. After an honorable discharge, Nora attended Fort Sanders Nursing School in Knoxville, Tennessee, graduating in 1958. Her many years in the nursing profession took her to the emergency room of Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, to isolated mountain communities in East Tennessee, where she served as a public health nurse, and to the Bloomington Healthcare System in Indiana until her retirement in 1989.

Nora’s passion for nursing was second only to her dedication to her family. She was a descendant of one of the first families of Tennessee and a proud member of the Livesay Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Clinton Moore of Crawfordsville; brothers, Hugh Kyle Livesay, William Talmage Livesay, Vance Kate Livesay, Milum Davis Livesay and James Lyons Livesay; and sister Winnie Elsa Livesay Morrow.

She is survived by brothers, Marion Testerman Livesay, Thomas Jackson Livesay and Anderson Doty Livesay and an extensive list of nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, and two 3 times great nieces. To those who loved her, Nora was a lifelong source of comfort and inspiration.

A memorial service and interment is planned for May at Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
