Travis Robert McClellan

Sept. 14, 1987-Jan. 27, 2022

Travis McClellan, 34, passed away Jan. 27, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at Franciscan East after a 23-year battle with kidney disease.

He was born Sept. 14, 1987, at Crawfordsville, to Tammy McClellan.

Surviving family members include: his mother, Tammy McClellan; uncle Robert McClellan; aunt Joanna (Jamey) West; and cousins who were more like sisters, Heather (Michael) Farris, Tarrah McClellan, Kimberly (Cory) Benge, Kylie McClellan, Maci West and Makayla West and their children Trinity, Evyn, Jaylen, Lyric, Gibson, Xander, Cooper, Emaree and Barrett.

Honorable mention: “Aunt” Angie Barger and special friend Catherine Bailey for the amazing care they gave Travis as his health deteriorated these last weeks.

Preceding him in death were grandmother Ginger McClellan; grandfather Jerry McClellan; and great-grandparents Don and Joan McClellan and Joe and Anita Rose.

A dear friend wrote this after his passing: Travis was a man of many words. If you didn’t like it, well you were going to hear it anyway. It’s one of the things we loved about Travis; he spoke his mind.

Travis took every opportunity to enjoy life; even when his Heath tried to hold him back. He would push harder and did what he wanted to do. And what he wanted to do was love all that was in his life.

He loved his family, friends, dogs, motorcycles and guns. He loved doing acts of kindness for others: and he most definitely loved to tell a good story and enjoy fireworks.

I would like to think that when Travis let us that out want because his heart failed him, but because he had so much love to give that his heart could not contain all that love.

Until we meet again, may the sun be upon your face as you ride the cloudy skyways of heaven.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
