Billy G. Nicholson

JUNE 4, 1941 – FEBRUARY 9, 2022

Billy G. Nicholson, age 80, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at home with his family by his side Wednesday, February 9, 2022. He was born June 4, 1941 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Donald Guy Nicholson and Winnie Elizabeth (Houston) Nicholson.

Billy was a Valley High School graduate, class of 1959.

He is survived his loving daughter, Julie (Nicholson) Rieman; along with his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his several nieces and nephews.

Billy retired as Vice President of The Black Beauty Coal Company after many years of hard work and dedication. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge in West Terre Haute, the Scottish Rite, he was a life member of AMVET, the 40 & 8, the American Legion Post 104, the Shriners, and the Eagles.

Billy enjoyed cooking, online shopping and he also loved catching up on the news as well as going on random trips with his daughter. He admired the outdoors and loved to fish, golf, find mushrooms, and go on hunting trips with his friends. Most of all, he cherished the times when he got to spend time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sally Nicholson; his son, Kevin Nicholson; grandson, Brian Rieman, his two step-sons, Dirk Joy and Richard Joy Jr.; his sisters, Barbara Lynn Terrell and Maribeth Barton; along with his brother, Richard Wayne Nicholson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 11-1pm at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Ric May officiating. Graveside service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
