Glenn Altus Dieterlen, 86, of Frankfort and formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Thursdya, Feb. 17, 2022, at IU Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.

He was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Scott County, to the late Altus and Nellie (Mahan) Dieterlen.

Glenn graduated from Boswell High School in 1953 and married the love of his life, Wanda Purcell on Nov. 27, 1955. Glenn farmed in the Shannondale area for many years. He also worked at Life Time Gate Company, Harpel Seeds and for his son at J&J Woodcrafters in Thorntown. He was a member of Indiana Farm Bureau, International Order of Foresters, Mace United Methodist Church and attended New Ross United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wanda of Frankfort; son Jon (Kim) Dieterlen of Thorntown; daughter Julie (Dennis) Lester of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, Megan (Andrew) Taylor, Sarah (Tim) Joly, Jonathon (Chanda) Dieterlen, Jacqueline (Dustin) Foster, Jasmine (Danish) Patel and Emily (fiancé Mike Shereyk) Harrison; seven great-grandchildren, Damien, Rowan, Alyssa, Carter, Cheyenne, Brooklyn and Katy; two brothers, Dr. Paul (Jan) Dieterlen DVM of Avon and Carl (Leona) Dieterlen of Millington, Tennessee; sister Janice (Norman) Segal of St. Clair, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Freda (Don) Melama; and great-granddaughter Lylah Dieterlen.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Saturday, Feb. 26 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tami Mussche officiating. The service will be live-streamed and recorded which can be viewed on his obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Burial will follow at Mace Community Cemetery.
