Freddie Bennett

January 18, 1934 - February 17, 2022

Frederick Leroy Bennett, 88, passed away February 17, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Freddie was born to the late Fred Bennett and Florence Vesta (Kingery) Bennett Best on January 18, 1934.
Freddie married the love of his life, Shirley (McVey) Bennett on June 6, 1957. Freddie was a jack of all trades. Throughout his life he worked as a truckdriver, bus driver, farmer, clay worker, security guard, and the worlds greatest dad, husband, and grandpa. He retired from Clay County Highway Department 2004. He loved basketball. Each summer he had a very large garden that the entire family ate out of. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
Freddie is preceded in death by his parents, son, Rusty Bennett, brother, Tom Bennett, and three great grandchildren, Carter Quinn, Kreyton Quinn, and Jerry Bennett.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Shirley, three children, Brenda Carter (Steve), Gerald Bennett (April), and Connie Payne (Dewayne), 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 27th at Harmony Community Center at 2 P.M. Everyone who would like to come is welcome.
