Zachary Dean Hendrix

JANUARY 9, 1989 – FEBRUARY 19, 2022

Zachary Dean Hendrix, 33, of Terre Haute, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 19, 2022. He was born on January 9, 1989 in Terre Haute to L. Dean Hendrix and Wendi Puckett.

Zachary is survived by his parents; siblings, Jason Rogers (Jeanine and family) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Greg Rogers (Tammy and family) of Westfield, IN, Heather Tighe (John) of Terre Haute, Stacey McCracken (Jamie) of Terre Haute, and Tanner Hendrix (Carley) of Terre Haute; nephews, Shawn Hendrix, Cayden Scott, Colton Scott, and Emory Morgan; niece, Mia Fields; aunts and uncles, Nancy Hendrix, Stefanie Hendrix, Susan Hendrix, Jimmy Hendrix (Judy), Wayne Puckett, Greg Puckett, Ronda Ravellette (Tom), and Karla Puckett; and many cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Patricia Sink; maternal grandmother, Kaye Puckett; and uncles, Terry Hendrix, Tommy Hendrix, and Maurice Puckett.

Zachary attended Riverton-Parke High School and graduated from Clay City High School in 2007. He worked at Putnamville Correctional Facility as a Correctional Officer since April 2015. Zach was a gentle giant who would help anyone in need. A kind, generous soul, he was a natural protector. He adored his niece and nephews from the moment that they were born. A big teddy bear, Zach had a contagious smile, infectious laughter, and a sarcastic sense of humor that made up for his lack of housekeeping skills. He was undoubtedly greeted in Heaven by his faithful companion and best friend, his dog, Josie, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in September.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 26 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Zach will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held following services at American Legion Post 104. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the animal shelter of your choice. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
