Elizabeth “Caroline” Nichols, 79, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 24, 2022. Caroline was born to the late Mason and Frances (Thompson) Cooper on November 22, 1942 in Brazil.
In 1968 she moved to Tampa with her family, where she continued to live for the next 12 years. Her and her family moved back to Brazil in 1979.
Caroline loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids. In her younger days she enjoyed dancing. She loved to get her hair and nails done. She greatly enjoyed her outings to various places with her niece Becki. She loved to drive the motorized buggies at the store, but definitely didn’t have a license to drive them. It wasn’t uncommon for her to run into displays or people in the store.
Caroline is preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Nichols, two children, Rebecca Grayless and Sidney Grayless, grandson, Kaden Alexander, four sisters, Laverne Cooper, Annis Shaunessy, Jane Bradshaw, and Edna Fagan, four brothers, Les Cooper, Ralph Cooper, Sidney Cooper, and Russell Cooper.
Caroline is survived by three children, Darlene Collins (Mark) of Tampa, Florida, Melissa Grayless-Tilley (Randy), and Darrell Grayless II both of Brazil, six grandchildren, Betty and Casey Collins of Tampa, Nick Alexander (Sandra) of Chicago, Dustin Alexander (Bobbi Lynn) of Brazil, and Dylan and Peyton Grayless of Brazil, five great grandchildren, Mason, Logan, Braden, Carsyn, and Maylee Alexander. Two great great grandchildren, Axel and Kaizlee Alexander all of Brazil. A very special niece, Becki Snyder (Jimmy) of Harmony, siblings, Rose Pell, Dale Cooper, and Commodore Cooper, all of Brazil.
According to Caroline’s wishes, cremation will take place.
