Joan K. Sneddon

March 6, 1931 - March 3, 2022

Joan K. Sneddon, 90 of Knightsville, passed away March 3, 2022, at 12:25 am at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility. She had been a resident there for three years. She was born March 6, 1931, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Thornton Pont Gallez and Mary Elizabeth Westfall Gallez. As a young child, her family moved to the Perth area, and she attended grade school in Perth. She graduated from Brazil High School.
On August 26, 1950, she was united in marriage to Jack Sneddon. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2004. They were members of the Knightsville Methodist Church. Joan played the piano at church for many years and was devoted to her faith. She enjoyed caring for her home, her lawn and, most of all, being a mom and grandma. She developed a talent for poetry and started a collection of her writings in the 1980’s. She wove her poetry most often following a scripture that had special meaning for her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley McCullough; a brother-in-law, Bob Phillips; her son in law, Ron Maffioli, and her dear husband, Jack Sneddon.
Survivors include her children, Emily Maffioli of Terre Haute, Scott Sneddon and wife Debbie of Harmony, Cheryl French and husband Ron of Brazil and Garry Sneddon and wife Jackie of Knightsville; grandchildren, Jamie Whitaker (Rich), Lisa Hardey (Chris), step-grandchildren, Tina Miller (Bob), Ronnie Maffioli and Toni Moore (John); great-grandchildren, Michael, Kinsey, Kalyn, B.J. Jonathan, Kaleena, Kirsten, Amber, Mindy, Maci, and D.J; great-great-grandchildren, Gage, Kayden, Jaxson, Brantly, Easton and Jayce; one sister Mary Ann Phillips of FL; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 8 at 2:00pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Aselage officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00-2:00. Post a note of condolence at www.frenchfuneralhome.com
