James L. Anderson, 87, of Reelsville, Indiana, passed away on March 5, 2022, following a brief illness.

Jim was born on January 18, 1935, in Bowling Green, Indiana, the son of Urvan and Tina B. (Jones) Anderson. He graduated from Bowling Green High School with the class of 1953. In the late 60’s and 70’s he owned, operated, and sold coin-operated car wash businesses and central vacuum systems. He worked for IBM from 1953 to 1969. He served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany, spending 2 years as a cryptograph repairman. Jim had a illustrious career as a Life Insurance Salesman. He has been self-employed since 1969. In 1972 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University. He has held a Real Estate License for more than 20 years. Amongst his many career accomplishments, he was a 20-year qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table.

Jim enjoyed traveling and has traveled to 47 states and 48 countries around the world. He enjoyed hunting and fishing locally and in various countries around the world.

He was preceded in death by his parents Urvan and Tina Anderson; a sister Eudora Spurr.

Survivors include his long-time companion, Doris Sanders; a son James Flint Anderson and wife Judy A. Anderson of Coatsville; a daughter Susan Nichole Anderson Shorter and husband Grant David Shorter of Spencer; a grandson Chancey Lane Anderson; great-granddaughter Bailey Lane Anderson; a niece Jere Gilliam.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Masonic services will begin at 1:00 PM with services to follow. Burial will be held at Cunot Cemetery with military rites provided by the United States Army as well as members of the American Legion and VFW.
