Glenaverne ‘Glena’ G. Davis

Glenaverne “Glena” G. Davis, 94, passed away peacefully Monday, April 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 1, 1927, at Gilbert, Minnesota, to John and Anna (Nallett) Denstedt. After retirement in 1989 she and her husband moved from New Ross to Oak Hill, Florida.

Glena had many talents. She upholstered furniture, excellent seamstress, realtor, avid reader and volunteered at Halifax Health Hospice. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Glena was a long-time member of Indian River Baptist Church where she started the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include: daughter Trudy (Ron) Youngs of Pensacola, Florida; two grandchildren, Travis (Jonna) Davis, of Ladoga and Tricia (Aaron) Thompson of New Market; four great-grandchildren, Dakota Davis of Crawfordsville, Chyanne Davis of Ladoga, Aaron (Skye) Youngs of Pensacola, Florida and Hunter Youngs of Pensacola, Florida; and great-great-granddaughter Lexie Davis of Crawfordsville.

Glena was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wallace Davis; son Fred Davis; and her six siblings.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, 406 S. Orange St., New Smyrna Beach, with Dr. Keith A. Taylor Sr., officiating. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, April 15 at Settle-Wilder Chapel. Burial will be at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Florida.
