David Leroy Mier

MARCH 13, 1931 – APRIL 21, 2022

David L. Mier, 91, died April 21 at his home at Westminster Village in Terre Haute.

Mr. Mier was born March 13, 1931 in Lincoln, Ill. to Florence and Kenneth Mier. He graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1949 and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University. He served in the US Navy.

He worked as a CPA for Ernst & Ernst and retired as a senior partner in the accounting firm of Mier, Eble, Bonomo & Strange. Mr. Mier attended St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. He was a former member of the Terre Haute Kiwanis Club.

David L. Mier is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth; daughter Karen Crispin; daughter Elizabethe Brown (Ed) of Seattle and son David J. Mier (Angie), of Bloomington, Ill. He also is survived by his beloved grandchildren: Sarah Frazier (Jeanette Bell), Thomas Mier (Charlene), Benedict Mier (Victoria), John Mier, Eliot Crispin, Cole Crispin and Matthew Mier. Also surviving Mr. Mier are his sisters, Shirley Wheat and Sandra Randolph.

Mr. Mier was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Florence Mier; his brother, Donald Mier; his sister Barbara Mier and his grandson, Jeffrey Mier.

Thank you to the staff and caregivers at Westminster Village of Terre Haute for the excellent care they provided to Mr. Mier, who moved to Westminster in October 2020. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
