David D. French

David D. French, 87, a life-long resident of Ladoga, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.

He was born Dec. 20, 1934, at Ladoga, to the late Ernest “Ernie” and Garnet (Gause) French. David was a graduate from Ladoga High School with the Class of 1952. On June 16, 1956, he married Gladys “Joan” (Ingram) French. She survives.

David worked in manufacturing most of his life. First at Steel Industries in Crawfordsville, Link-Belt Industries in Indianapolis and then Acuity Brands Lighting in Crawfordsville. David was a die-hard Cubs and I.U. basketball fan. He enjoyed taking trips to Wrigley Field, weekend getaways and reading James Patterson books. But most of all his favorite times and memories were being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of more than 69 years, Joan; his children, Rick French and Kristi (Josh) Braziel; four grandchildren, Cameron Braziel, Cammie French, Mason Braziel and Kylie Braziel; and sister Carol French.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ernest French Jr.; and sister Irene Cross.

David will be laid to rest privately by his family in Oak Hill North Cemetery, Crawfordsville.  Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
