Nicholas L. “Nic” Rudder, 43, of Brazil, Indiana and formerly of Columbus passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Cloverleaf Health Care Center in Brazil after a long battle with brain cancer.

Nic was born in Indianapolis June 1, 1979, he graduated from Columbus East High School, attended The University of Indiana and Ivy Tech Community College. He was a Big Brother thru the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America Program and a member of The American Legion and a member of the Air National Guard.

He was an IT specialist serving with the 181st Intelligence Wing from 2005-2021. He served with 181st Base Communications Flight from 2005-2017. Served 181st Intelligence Support Squadron from 2017-2021. Served on orders in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 1 October 2018 through September 30, 2019 at Hulman Field. He retired in 2021 due to ill health.

Nic is survived by his father, Richard L. “Rich” Rudder of Columbus; his mother, Karen (Kenneth) Bednarik of The Villages, FL; brother, Christopher L. Rudder of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, C. Victor and Ellen Rudder and Chester and Estella Owens.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home 7500 Clinton St Terre Haute IN 47805, with Lt Col Kent Lundy officiating. Visitation from 12:30 p.m. to service time. Military honors by the Hulman Field Base Honor Guard. Inurnment will be private.
