Steven Carl Nicoson

JUNE 27, 1945 – MAY 31, 2022

Steven Carl Nicoson, 76, passed away Monday, May 31, 2022, in his home.

Steve was the youngest of six boys born to Zenis and Mary Nicoson, and lived his whole life in Terre Haute. He spent his childhood roaming the streets of the Plum Avenue area. He graduated from Gerstmeyer High School with the Class of 1964. He was married to Sharon (Jones) Nicoson on May 4, 1968. They were married for 49 years until her death in 2018.

He worked at Jones Tool & Machine for 36 years until his retirement. He was a long-standing member of the Elks #86, the Zorah Shrine, and the Masonic Freemasons.

Steve enjoyed many things in his great life, from spending hours upon hours on the golf course, to keeping up a meticulous home and yard. He accompanied his wife through many travels across the world, and spent several peaceful winters in Southwest Florida. His work ethic was admired by many. He loved his family ferociously, and that love is mutual.

He is preceded in death by his parents Zenis & Mary, his brother Ron and sister-in-law Nadine, brother Dean and sister-in-law Barbara, brother Pat and sister-in-law Phyllis, brother Skip, and sister-in-law Nancy.

He’s survived by his daughter Kim, son Matt and his wife Brooklyn, granddaughters Lucy, Ruby, and Molly, his brother Barry, sister-in-law Carolyn Nicoson, sister-in law Shirley McDonald and brother-in-law Ron Jones, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Steve was a tremendous father and adoring grandfather, and will be missed profoundly.

Visitation will be Monday, June 6th, 2022 from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Service will be immediately after.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org or 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
