John Johnson

July 17, 1949 - May 28, 2022

John Johnson, 72, of Midlothian Texas passed away May 28th, 2022 at 8:25 p.m. at the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. He was born July 17th,1949 in Brazil to John Johnson, Sr. and Hyla Grindle. He resided the past twenty-six years in Midlothian, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father John and mother Hyla Johnson and one brother Jimmy Ray Johnson.

Survivors include his wife Helen Jones Johnson, whom he married October 15, 1971; one daughter, Lisa Trevino and her husband Raul of Midlothian; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Katelyn Trevino.

Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran. A Brazil City Police Officer whom during his service received the Silver Star. Elected in 1984 he served as the Clerk-Treasurer of Brazil.

Mr. Johnson graduated from Brazil High School. He earned a B.S. degree in accounting, from I.S.U. He retired from the Army Airforce Exchange Service in 2009. John loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. He will be missed. We appreciate the prayers from both sides of our family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 8th from 11-1 at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Steve Blaydes will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery.
