Harold Wayne Whittinghill

December 30, 1941 - June 11, 2022

Mr. Harold Wayne Whittinghill, 80, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at his home in Thorntown. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana on December 30, 1941; a son of the late Ralph and Eleanor Rose (Barton) Whittinghill. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Jake R. Whittinghill.                     

Harold graduated from Thorntown High School in 1959.  He worked at Heffner Poultry, Farrows, and Shumate’s. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona around 1982 and worked at a paper factory there before going to Swift Trucking. Harold retired from Swift as a driving instructor and moved back to Thorntown on November 9, 2021. His hobby was photography. He was a good friend to many, a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include are his ex-wife, Karen S. (Poole) Brown; five children: Jerry W. and wife, Lisa M. (Rhinehart) Whittinghill, Brenda S. (Whittinghill) Cochran, Steven D. and wife, Amy (McComis) Whittinghill, Lisa A. (Whittinghill) Wuerdeman, Jason A. Smith; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Meredith Neal of Thorntown.

Funeral Services are planned for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16,2022 at Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory, 315 West Main Street, Jamestown, Indiana 46147. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home in Jamestown.

Interment will follow services at Old Union Cemetery in Jamestown, Indiana.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the charity of the donor’s choice.
