Gary Leon Estep

Gary Leon Estep, 75, of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette.

Gary was born Jan. 11, 1947, at Somerset, Kentucky, to Leo Estep and Ruby (Alexander) Estep and was one of 10 children. After completing his education, he worked for much his life as a carpenter, owning his own business, Gary Estep General Carpentry in Crawfordsville for over 50 years.

He later met his wife, Julie (Kreighbaum) Estep, and they enjoyed their many years together watching each of their children, and then their grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.

Gary was a man of faith and loved being a deacon as well as a Sunday school teacher at the Friendship Baptist Church in Crawfordsville. He was a blessing to many, and also had many joys in life; including witnessing to people and spreading the gospel, golfing, bowling, as well as spending time with his friends, church and family, whom all loved him very much.

Gary is survived by wife Julie (Kreighbaum) Estep; daughters, Michelle (Donnie) Wilson and Angie (Mike) Cooper; step-children, Kimberly (Tony) Sanduski, Lance (Stephanie) Hall and Lori (Larry) Jarvis; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Bill (Rose) Estep, Raymond (Judy) Estep, Gene Estep, Tom (Sis) Estep, Ginny (Jim) Winsted and Bert (Junior) Adams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his three brothers, Jim Estep, Bob Estep and Jack Estep.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 at Friendship Baptist Church, 1981 Oak Hill Road, Crawfordsville. A celebration of life will be at 5 p.m. at the church with a light supper to follow.
