Darrell W. Grimes, Jr.

December 25, 1976 - August 12, 2022

Darrell Wayne Grimes, Jr., 45, passed away at his home in New Ross, Indiana on Friday, August 12, 2022.  He was born in Indianapolis on December 25, 1976, a son of Darrell W. Grimes, Sr. and the late Robin Del (Mitchell) Pickens.

On October 27, 2001, he was married to Angel (Roosa) Grimes in Indianapolis; she survives.

Darrell attended Speedway High School and later attained a master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He was a self-employed landscaper and had started his business, Indy Lawn Service, in 1999.

He was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his children.  His interests included frequenting antique malls along with collecting arrow heads throughout the years. He held memberships with the United Methodist Church of New Ross and Hazelrigg Masonic Lodge #200.                                    

Survivors include his wife, Angel Grimes; two daughters, Ashley (Kenny) Goldstein and Molly Grimes; a grandson, Denver Goldstein; father, Darrell W. Grimes, Sr.; brothers, Jay Grimes and Jonathon Grimes; sisters, Jena Gastil, Tammy Grimes, and Kelly Knapp; several nieces and nephews.             

Funeral Services are planned for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory, 315 West Main Street, in Jamestown, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of services. Cremation will follow services.

Memorials may be directed in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
