Stanley Hofmann

Stanley Hofmann, 74, of Cory passed away August 19, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.

Stanley was born April 18, 1948, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Karl and Masil (Unger) Hofmann who preceded him in death. He graduated from Cory High School with the class of 1966. Stanley served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. On March 20, 1970, he was united in marriage to Janet Williams.

Stanley worked his entire life as a farmer and caretaker of the land. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s activities.

Stanley is survived by his wife of over 52 years Janet Hofmann; their children Ivan and Angel Hofmann and Lance and Christa Hofmann, all of Clay City; their grandchildren: Kaity, Kent, Jenna, Shelby, Toby, and Holt Hofmann. He is also survived by nephews: Perry, Shan, Randy, and Jason Hofmann and their families, along with other extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother Leon Hofmann on January 30, 2022.

Services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Clay City, with Pastor Jason Paul officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
