Charlotte R. Crabb

March 2, 1935  -  August 25, 2022

Charlotte R. Crabb, 87 of Brazil, passed away August 25, 2022, at 5:14pm at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was the last of the Crabb sisters. She was the daughter of Fred L. Crabb and Fanny Gladys West Crabb. She graduated from Brazil High School with the Class of 1953.
Survivors include one brother Larry R. Crabb and wife Nancy of Monticello, IN, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends and her niece, Susie Hoffman of Brazil.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gladys West Crabb, her five siblings, William F. Crabb, Ruth N. Crabb, Kenneth L. Crabb, John T. Crabb, and Harriet June Crabb.
Charlotte began her work career the Monday following graduation with Texaco Bulk Plant as a bookkeeper. The owners at that time were Lang and Jack Randall. She kept that same job, at the same location for 57 years. The ownership changed to Jack Reece in 1984, but Charlotte was a constant at the business.
She was a member of the Eastside Christian Church where she played the piano until her health did not allow. She enjoyed bowling and was the secretary of the Women’s Bowling Association for over 30 years.
Although she never had children of her own, she loved and spoiled her many nieces, nephews, and the families she babysat for throughout her life.
Charlotte loved Indiana University Basketball. She collected Hummel figurines and salt and pepper shakers. She read her Bible daily, she also worked word search books, and colored adult coloring books up to her final days.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 2, 2022, at 2:00pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Brock officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2:00.
