Jane Ellyn Grounds

Jane E. Grounds, 64 of Brazil, passed away September 14, 2022, at 7:10 pm at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility following a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born May 2, 1958, in Brazil, the daughter of John Latta and Rosemary Wellmeyer Latta. She graduated from Brazil High School, Class of 1976. Jane has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Terre Haute.

In her working years, she was a cook and waitress at the I-70 Truckstop and for the Clay Community Schools. Her most important and best job was being a mom and grandmother. She made sure to be at as many of the grandkids’ activities as possible and enjoyed these special times.

Survivors include her mother, Rosemary Latta; her children, Megan Grounds of Mooresville, Devon Graverson (Chase) and James Grounds all of Brazil; grandchildren, Owen Lawson, Brantley Lawson, Addison Lawson, Cole Graverson, Layla Graverson, Nora Graverson, Eva Graverson, Gemma Graverson, and Dax Graverson; three brothers, Kent Latta, Mike Latta (Sara), and Jim Latta; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Latta.

Services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 11:00am at the Lawson-Miller Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 6-8 and again Thursday one hour prior to the service.
