Kaleb Barker-Switzer

July 7, 2009-Sept. 25, 2022

Kaleb Barker-Switzer, 13, passed away Sept. 25, 2022, at his mother’s home surrounded by his loving family. He passed peacefully in his sleep while being held and kissed by his mother and father.

He was born July 7, 2009, at Indianapolis, the son of Blake Barker-Switzer and Tiffany Simpson. Kaleb was able to live 13 great years only due to quality of care provided by Riley Hospital staff and by the virtue of organ donor families.

Kaleb was an amazing little boy who touched everyone who had the honor to meet him. His big personality would light up with his favorite Disney and Pixar movies, Star Wars, and singing along to music. He loved elephants, playing outside, his Toy Story figures, police officers, going on “safari” walks, snuggling with his mom and dad, and his favorite color was blue; dark blue. Kaleb had a huge smile and a contagious laugh that made everybody happy. He impressed everyone who met him due to his compassion, humor, and courtesy; he never met a person whom he did not want to hug and he always said “thank you.” Kaleb loved attending The Umbrella Center, Northview Church in Noblesville, First United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville, and Little Star Academy.

Kaleb is survived by his loving parents, Blake Barker-Switzer and Tiffany Simpson; his little sister, Graysen; paternal grandmother, Shirl Barker; maternal grandparents, Michael and Lana Knight; maternal great-grandfather, Philip Soresi; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in passing by his paternal grandfather, Doug Switzer; paternal great-grandparents, Alan and Betty Jo Switzer; and maternal great-grandmother, Johanna Soresi.

A celebration of life will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 8 at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road, Noblesville.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of the wonderful gift of organ donation, contributions may be directed to Donate Life Indiana www.donatelifeindiana.org.
