Keith Marcus Kester

Keith Marcus Kester, 74, passed over peacefully October 2, 2022, at Cobblestone Crossing, in Terre Haute.

Marc was born May 28, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio. He spent his childhood in Holbrook and Tucson, Arizona and ultimately in Escondido, California. He graduated from Escondido High School in 1966 where he played in the marching band. Soon after graduating he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years. He served state-side and overseas. During his time abroad, he traveled extensively in the countries in which he served or in adjacent countries with his beloved camera around his neck.

In retirement he lived first in Blytheville, Arkansas and then settled on the Clay County farm, near Cory, Indiana which has been in the family since 1848.

Marc loved and cared for family and abandoned cats and dearly loved the several military families who invited him into their homes and travels and made them a part of “their families”. He had a beautiful singing voice and sang in church choir and at funerals. He loved classical music – especially opera.

He is survived by his sister Jeanie Kester McElwain and husband Paul Ben McElwain niece Andrea Ellinger, and nephew Ryan McElwain.

Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Riley, Indiana, on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM with honors provided by the VFW and the American Legion.
