Ronald Chamberlain

Ronald Lee Chamberlain, 80, passed away on October 3, 2022, at his Clay County, Indiana home.

Ron was born on March 1, 1942, in Clay County, Indiana, the son of Earl and Frances (Thomas) Chamberlain. He graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1961. He worked as a coal miner for Peabody Coal for 26 years and then at the Clay County Highway for 10 years retiring as Superintendent. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, hobby farming, tinkering with his Farmall Tractors, and working outdoors.

Ron and Vickie were long-time members of the Benwood Mt. Lebanon Church. Ron was a founding member of the Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department. He has been a member of the Indiana Volunteer Fireman’s Association for more than 50 years.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; Earl and Frances Chamberlain; a son in infancy Kelly Lee Chamberlain; a brother Raymond Chamberlain; brother-in-law David Aker;

Survivors include his wife Victoria (Hull) Chamberlain whom he married on June 23, 1961; two daughters: Lisa Chamberlain Metz of Brazil and Lori Chamberlain of Crawford, TX; granddaughter: Jessica McMillin and husband Jason of Brazil; great-grandson Jaxson McMillin; a sister Rozanne Aker of Brazil; a sister-in-law Char Chamberlain of Brazil as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Services will be at the funeral home, on Monday, at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
