Lloyd Dale Harris Sr.

Lloyd Dale Harris Sr., 72, of Harmony, Indiana passed away on October 6, 2022, following an extended illness.
Lloyd was born on December 27, 1949, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Carroll C. and Virginia (Merritt) Harris. He graduated from Gerstmeyer with the class of 1968. Lloyd was the second of four generations of his family to serve his country in the United States Military. Lloyd served in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. He attended Western Kentucky State University and majored in Law Enforcement. Lloyd worked as a Police Officer in Oak Grove, Kentucky and as a Prison Guard at the Federal Correctional Institute, in Terre Haute. Lloyd retired in 2015 from the Clay Community School Corporation, at East Side Elementary School, where he had worked as a custodian several years.
He enjoyed welding, woodworking, and watching NASCAR.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents: Carroll and Virginia Harris; his first wife Marie (Hall) Harris; a son Jerry Harris; and a great-grandson Brantley Loveall; a sister Elizabeth Withers.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Leslie (Howard) Harris whom he married on October 27, 2001; son: Lloyd Dale Harris Jr. (Tuesday); grandchildren: Dylan Loveall (Morgan), Kaitlynn Randall (Matthew), and Madison Harris; great-grandchildren: Gannon, Silas, Olivia, Adeline, and Sebastion; siblings: Janet Wood (Chris), Ronald Harris (Liz), and Robert Harris; his four-legged companion Ruby as well as many extended family members and friends.
Cremation has been entrusted to French Funeral Home, in Brazil.
