Gary "Kermit" Stantz

Gerald “Gary” “Kermit” Lee Stantz, 60, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on October 5, 2022, after a lengthy battle with Leukemia.

Gary was born to Howard and Carol (Kittle) Stantz, on June 24, 1962, at Putnam County Hospital. He attended and graduated from Cloverdale Community Schools.

He worked at Greencastle Manufacturing for several years where he obtained his nickname “Kermit” then the Rockville Women’s Correctional Facility for the last 10 years. His favorite activities were fishing, working on lawnmowers and small engines and sitting around campfires.

Gary met his wife Cindy Demaree after graduating from Cloverdale High School, while working a summer job at Indiana Oaks Campground where her family loved to go.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cindy; his parents Howard and Carol Stantz and his sister Doris Stantz.

He is survived by his son Kyle A. Stantz (Lexi); his brothers Jon Stantz (Lisa) of Spencer, Tony Stantz (Cindy) of Coatsville, his fiancé Angela Kirkman and step son Dillon, sisters-in-law Regina Dickison, Shari Nicoson, brothers-in-law Jerry Demaree, Bill Demaree, and Joe Demaree, several aunts and uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
