William ‘Bill’ Hurt

William “Bill” Hurt, 73, of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at Witham Hospital in Lebanon.
He was born Jan. 11, 1949, at Frankfort, to Dennis and Icy (Shaw) Hurt. He had married Exie Pence. They later divorced. He made his home with fiancée Linda Perry in Crawfordsville.
Bill attended Clinton Prairie High School. He had served his country in the Army. Bill retired from Frankfort City Light and Power after 33 years as a lineman then retired from Veedersburg City Light and Power. He was a member of the Clinton County Saddle Club and Fair Board, Indiana Horse Conference, Tractor Pullers Association, a 4-H leader of the Horse and Pony Club, lifetime member of the AQHA, auctioneer and the American Legion.
Survivors include: son Denny (Ellen) Hurt of Frankfort; daughter Anna (Mike) Herbert of Sheridan; sisters, Virginia Bradshaw of Darlington and Joanne Morin of Frankfort; granddaughters, Alex (Justin) Tanksley of Lafayette and Katie and Abby Herbert of Sheridan; and one great-grandchild on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents; fiancée Linda Perry; and sisters, Anna Marie Phillippo and Opal Murphy.
Private services will be held. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery.
